Chemring Australia Delivers Australian Defence Force Countermine Capability

Chemring Australia has successfully delivered the first element of the Australian Defence Force’s countermine capability being procured under Land 144. The Chemring developed Portable Explosive Minefield Breaching System (PEMBS) was selected by the Australian Army after competitive tender, and contracted in December 2007. Within 12 months Chemring has delivered all operational and training variants of the system, and delivered a suite of logistic services, including documentation and training. The culmination of the program was the successful demonstration and delivery of training to the Army at its School of Military Engineering.

The PEMBS system is in usage across the world and provides users with the world’s most effective and reliable means of breaching obstacles and minefields in operational environments.
