EPIRBS
Chemring Australia market and distribute a range of Electronic Radio Position Indicator Beacons (EPIRBs) and Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs) under the Pains Wessex and McMurdo brand names.
All our EPIRB and PLB units operate on the 406Mhz global satellite rescue system ensuring that your emergency signal can be sent from anywhere in the world.
Whether you are a commercial or leisure marine vessel, sailing round the coast or offshore, an EPIRB should be considered a vital part of your vessels safety inventory.
The PLBs have all the benefits of the 406Mhz EPIRB except that they are registered to an individual as opposed to a vessel. A PLB is of benefit if you regularly move from boat to boat and may also be used in remote 'on land' areas, making these units also suitable for the those involved in exploration, aviation, sailing, climbing or any other adventure activity.
Within both the EPIRB and PLB ranges, some of the products have the added benefit of dedicated built in GPS sending a highly accurate location position typically +/- 50 metres within a few minutes of switching the unit on. This enables the rescue authorities to greatly reduce their search time.
